1968 Jaguar E-yype Series I 4.2 open two seat roadster, S/N 1E 16478, Carmen Red with black interior, black convertible top, 4.2 litre in-line 6 cylinder engine with triple SU carburetors, 4 speed manual gearbox, covered headlights, factory chromed wire wheels, built in December 1967 and distributed new via Jaguar Cars of New York, New York to its first owner a Mr. Charles R. Van Lopik, Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate present, driven 1,100 miles since completion of an impressive top-to-bottom restoration including complete engine rebuild, aluminum radiator upgrade, stainless steel exhaust and much, much more, all performed under the watchful eye of George Hughes of Don’s Jaguar Service in Flemington, New Jersey. E-type followers may call this late 1967 a Series I.5 though, the factory never used such a moniker. Our SI wears the later style dash from new and is of course still outfitted with all critical SI components of covered headlights, triple SU carburetors and high-mount tail lights and certainly an exceptional example of the long adored E-type.
