1979 Mercedes Benz 450SEL 6.9 W116 chassis sedan, S/N 11603612006552, 172 Anthracite Grey with 204 Bamboo leather, 6.9 litre M100 V8 gas engine, three speed automatic transmission, hydropneumatic self-leveling suspension, climate control, factory steel sunroof, factory optional heated and orthopedic front seats, Becker Mexico cassette radio, 5 place seating, USA example built June 1979 and delivered new September 21, 1979 by The Automaster Mercedes Benz of South Burlington, Vermont and where it would reside and be regularly serviced with its first owner for the following 21 years, then trading hands through venerable Mercedes Benz workshop Hatch & Sons in Wayland, Massachusetts, and then finally with its 3rd owner from 2005 until just being traded to us on another 70s’ classic, extensive history file dating back to new including original sales order, original window sticker, all original owner’s manuals and pouch, original maintenance and warranty booklets, original metal service data plate, numerous work orders from throughout the decades. Our Mercedes Benz flagship of the era is well sorted mechanically and has a beautifully presented and nicely aged original interior, the paint is showing quite nicely throughout but is showing just a few apologies and here and there from its regular yet ultra-low mileage seasonal use – nothing too egregious from a few steps away but, not fully sparkling and blemish free either. email us for a complete photo link which will show much more detail.
