1990 Mercedes Benz 190E 2.5-16 Evolution II, S/N WDB2010361F739521, 199 Black Pearl metallic with striking black/grey cloth/leather seat upholstery, Cosworth heavily tuned 2.5 litre 16 valve in-line 4 cylinder engine making for 235hp and a 7,600rpm redline, 5 speed Getrag manual gearbox, adjustable and hydraulic self-leveling rear suspension, 17 inch EVO II alloy wheels, EVO II signature factory “aero kit” from new including rear wing spoiler, side skirts, fender flares and large front spoiler and splitter, manufacture completed May 1990 and delivered from the factory new July 13, 1990 to Mercedes Benz Augsburg, of Augsburg, Germany, the EVO II would remain on showroom display in Augsburg until being delivered in 1998 to its first owner, racing driver Gunter Thiel, who would go on to keep the EVO II for the next two decades plus, our EVO II Nr. 487 of the 502 built and homologated to do battle in the DTM German Touring Car Championship race series, while our Nr. 487 a concours jewel, other EVO II would be wildly successful in the DTM with numerous victories and podiums, wearing entirely original paint throughout and completely stock and unmodified, our spectacular EVO II Nr. 487 is on offer now out of our suburban Boston showroom.
