“We’ve turned a legend into an ICON.” Jonathan & Jamie Ward, founders ICON and TLC4X4
For the past two and a half decades, Jonathan and Jamie Ward and their team have been restoring Toyota FJs in their Los Angeles TLC4X4 and ICON workshops. The purposeful and tasteful design elements and upgrades in their projects are only surpassed by their exceptional second-to-none build quality. Throughout the past decade, the ICON team has developed the very same expertise with yet another legendary SUV, the Ford Bronco. ICON Bronco #94 was commissioned by our longtime friends and consummate car folks. Having had NAS Defenders and sportscars of all types, the idea with the ICON was to design something over-the-top, and that they did. Built in ICON’s “Old School” aesthetic, Bronco #94 was painted in the elegant and oh so period correct glossy Boxwood Green with the perfectly contrasting hard top in Wimbledon White, and for the interior, wow, wow, wow, a rustic yet luscious leather in Marmalade with a wonderful aroma has been fitted to the seat upholstery, door panels, arm rests and even wrapping the steering wheel, all contrasted with brown square weave carpet piped in Marmalade, brown seat belts too. And while looking smashing, Old School Bronco #94 is fitted with all the appropriate modern performance and convenience accessories. Ford’s workhorse 5.0 litre crate motor making 460hp mated to a Ford 4 speed automatic transmission, Brembo disc braking system, high-intensity headlights, heated front seats, touch screen hi-fi sound system, 2 passenger tuck-and-tumble forward facing bench seat for two with three point seat belts, heating and air conditioning, neato operating power windows, power retractable side steps, alcantara headliner, and so much more, and of course 4 wheel drive with high-low range – not that you’ll need it on the way to dinner or the coffee shop.
ICON Old School Bronco #94 looks today as it did when it left the ICON workshops in May of 2022, and is on offer now in our suburban Boston showroom.
