1961 Ferrari 400 Superamerica SWB Aerodinamico coupe, Serial Number 2631 SA, Engine No. 2631 SA, 320hp 4.0 litre Colombo V12 outside plug engine, 4 speed manual gearbox with overdrive, disc brakes at all four corners, S/N 2631 the 5th of just 17 short wheel base Series I 400SA and entered the Carrozzeria Pininfarina plant in the spring of 1961, final completion at the Ferrari factory in November of that same year and delivered new to its first owner in Italy, a Mr. Emanuele Rivetti, shortly thereafter exported to USA Ferrari importer, Luigi Chinetti Motors of New York, New York and distributed to venerable dealer/racer, Bob Grossman of Nyack, New York.  Car and Driver magazine would feature 2631 on their April 1963 cover with their detailed and gushing road test inside.  Houston oilman, John Mecom, Jr. would become the 400SA’s first USA owner and then later noted Indiana collector Tom Mittler would own the 400SA for 20+ years and then onward in 2014 into the collection were the Superamerica resides today.  The SWB 400SA is completely matching numbers throughout and has been thoroughly documented by Swiss Ferrari historian Marcel Massini, and is fully Ferrari Factory “Red Book” Classiche Certified.  2631 the recipient of extensive restorative work including bare metal repainting in striking Dark Blu metallic, luscious deep natural leather re-trimmed, all exterior brightwork re-chromed and, full mechanical sorting including a major engine overhaul.
