1961 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud II Long Wheelbase Touring Limousine with James Young coachwork, Serial Number LCB 68, Dark Blue with grey hides, the first of the Silver Clouds to be fitted with the all new 6.2 litre V8 engine with twin S.U. carburetors, mated to the standard GM Hydramatic 4 speed automatic transmission, per the factory specification sheet on file dated November 3, 1960, our right hand drive Silver Cloud II was built for venerable Rolls Royce dealership, Jack Barclay Ltd, and one of just 38 LWB Touring Limousines with James Young coachwork – the James Young coachbuilding firm long since owned directly by Jack Barclay Ltd, outfitted with such luxury items as electrically operated privacy division glass, burled walnut throughout with fold-down picnic tables, electrically operated windows, rear passenger foot rests, and with sound provided by an His Master’s Voice AM/FM radio, restored nearly twenty years ago by acclaimed Rolls Royce mechanic Don Clark, and in collaboration with Jim Cosgrove’s Old Timer Restoration Center, showing absolutely beautifully today with the restoration photo chronicled – yes, real photographs, as well as dozens of the most beautifully hand written work orders by Mr. Clark, also accompanying the history file are dozens of work orders and letters to the owner from Jim Cosgrove, a proper factory workshop manual and engine supplement, an original owner’s manual, the aforementioned factory specification sheet copy, and several Rolls Royce Owner’s Club concours judging cards. Our magnificent James Young Cloud II has been adored by the same owner these past nearly two decades and presents beautifully throughout.
