1971 Mercedes Benz 280SE 3.5 W111 chassis coupe, Serial Nr. 11102612003715, Engine Nr. 11698012003293, DB180 Silver with 245 Blue leather, 200hp 3.5 litre V8 gasoline engine, 4 speed automatic transmission with floor mounted shifter, electric sunroof, Behr air conditioning, Becker Mexico radio, manuals windows with power front windows added, delivered new to Rastatt, Germany February 23rd, 1971, then coming to California for decades until coming east a handful of years ago, original owner’s manuals, original warranty and maintenance booklets, original data cards, extensive history file with recent major mechanical servicing, largely original interior showing in acceptable “driver quality” condition, reupholstered front seats, a previous adequate repainting showing poorly today.
our 3.5 coupe an interesting example what with its inconsistent interior and apologetic paint. it can however be driven and enjoyed as it sits and is in its original colors, with original engine and one of very few from new with both floor shift automatic and electric sunroof.
