1928 Bentley 4 1/2 Vanden Plas open tourer
1928 Bentley 4 1/2 Vanden Plas open tourer, S/N FT3221, Engine No. FT3222, Registration No. XV 3694, delivered new to Madam de Bourbon of Paris, FT3221 retains its original body, chassis and engine as noted in Bentley historian Clare Hay’s “Bentley, The Vintage Years,” known history back to new with owners in France, United Kingdom, New Zealand, and USA, the 4 1/2 more recently campaigned in multiple Argentine 1000 miles rallyes, and an absolutely remarkable history file with hundreds of original receipts, owner’s notes, photographs and restorer correspondence throughout the decades dating back to the 1930s. Such a treat for a pre-war Bentley to have its original body, engine and chassis, FT3221 a very special piece indeed and is currently in the USA in a private collection and without question a welcomed participant at any historic event worldwide.
